Twice the current square footage

Additional seating--clients will not have to stand while waiting to be served

A reception window accommodating three volunteers instead of one

Six interview offices, additional staff, volunteer interviewers and extended hours enables more families to be served and eliminates the days at closing when families have to come back the next day.

Addition of a central filing/workroom area.

A larger Special Projects room for storage (personal care items, cleaning supplies, school supplies, birthday party bags, children’s goodie boxes) and small meetings for programs such as HOPE and Sewing 101

A Large Multi-Purpose Meeting/Resource Room with kitchen will accommodate more than just the Board of Directors Table.

The Thrift Shop will have more than double the current square footage allowing LICS to not only expand each department for clients and customers but provide a large selection of furniture and household appliances (all the things a family would need after a fire).

Additional Thrift Shop check out counter space will allow for two cash registers instead of one. Shorter lines will allow customers to shop on their lunch break or when their time is limited. The Thrift Shop sales help serve the families seeking financial assistance such as Prescriptions, Rent, Mortgage, Utilities and Shelter.

A Donation Center where both food pantry and thrift shop donations are received in at one door and/or a lift door for truck deliveries.  In this area the donations are weighed, recorded, tax receipts issued, sorted, packed and distributed in a way that ensures the integrity of the gift. The donation center will also allow for a separate food pantry distribution door allowing the 5,000 pounds of food per week to be received in one door and passed out to families at another.

The additional space will allow for large or multiple volunteer groups to be scheduled at the same time. This will eliminate having to tell a group they cannot volunteer at that time.
