LPD's Adopt-A-Cop Program

The Lexington Police Department held their annual Fall Festival as a fundraiser for the Adopt-A-Cop Program. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s festival were designated to be donated to LICS, a local agency that provides food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, referrals and counseling to individuals and families in need.  Chief Green presented a check in the amount of $500 to the staff of LICS at the December 5, 2011 Town Council Meeting. Rock for LICS

Lexington United Methodist Church (LUMC) hosted its first annual Rock for LICS fundraiser Thursday, November 17 at LUMC!  The event was located in LUMC’s Wesley Hall and consisted of dinner, music, and dancing.  The dinner was prepared by LUMC volunteers, Charles Gatch’s The Swing Set Band provided the music, and Paul Lagatore of Columbia’s Ballroom Company provided free shag lessons, adding much fun to the night.  As a result, Rock for LICS increased food donations for their Thanksgiving food drive and collected close to $3,000 for Lexington Interfaith Community Services (LICS).  LICS would like to thank the many people involved making this event a success!  “Faith moves us to serve our neighbors in crisis.”
